My late father Arthur Leighton Allen was a long time resident and local government officer of Shrewsbury. Unfortunately I have very little information of him. I know he lived in Oakley St, Belle Vue for a great many years and that he was a Land Drainage Officer with Shropshire County Council. He was awarded the MBE for services rendered in this capacity and died (in Shrewsbury?) in late 1980s or early 1990s. After serving in the Army for some 37 years I am now retired myself and am trying to track down my antecedents. Any information would be much appreciated.
