In researching our family history, we've discovered our Parker ancestors were originally from Shrewsbury. The earliest record we currently have is for the marriage of Richard Parker to Jane Roberts at St Alkmund in 1823. Richard like a lot of his sons was a Shoe Maker, and we're thinking this probably runs even further back in the family. If anyone else is researching Parkers in Shrewsbury it would be great to hear from you. In the 1841 census theres only about 50 parkers in the whole of Shrewsbury, which cant be that many families.
