Title: Taking The Con Out Of Conservative
Description: A new meaning to the word 'Conmen'

Andy Cooke - May 25, 2009 05:32 PM (GMT)
As government ministers line-up to, 'spend more time with their families,' to us resign, what trust can we put in the whole process of government in this country?

Judging by the Telegraph list the major perpertrators are conservative conspeople who you would think would have known better. I hope in the local elections coming up this will reflect on consensus.

What a nerve these 'right honourable' men and women have in cheating the British people in this way.

Wellingtonian - June 22, 2009 01:46 PM (GMT)
Who was it who introduced the new system? G. Brown!

Andy Cooke - October 15, 2009 09:15 PM (GMT)
Tory MP for Spelthorne David Wilshire added to the list of Tory conmen. When soldiers are dying through lack of kit in wars in Afghanistan these 'fatcats' make profit from our own money. Unjust, yes criminal, yes. To me it sits on the same plain legally as benefit fraud so why arent these men prosecuted?

Same reason why Jacqui Smith isn't been prosecuted, or Gordon Brown, or why Tony Blair isn't going to be prosecuted for helping to wage an illegal war. Probably.

Just in case anybody has not clocked Owen Patersons '' completely genuine mistake'' in abusing the commons expenses system. He is having to pay back the £5,200 after 'getting his sums wrong'. Pull the other one Owen!

And poor Mr Morley still can't quite come to terms with what is happening to him!

Andy Cooke - February 12, 2010 03:29 PM (GMT)
I think all the old ex Etonian odd-bods in the Conservative party have had their day. You don't have to go either to a public school such as Eton to become a Barrister or MP these days. Long live the King!

Well its very interesting that the 3 MPs who now face prosecution are all labour!

Also interesting Gordon brown is getting a very good actor as the general election approaches B)

Yes, yes... you just keep dreaming of a Labour win at the next general election...

Tories back in power and not a moment too soon.

Yeah the Etonians have had their day... they're only going to form the next government.

Andy Cooke - February 13, 2010 10:35 PM (GMT)
Have I hit a nerve there PS? I wouldnt support any of the loser parties in the next general election mentioned. I think they, due to recent publicity, have both shot themselves in the foot. Fancy supporting cheats and weasles and of course old etonians to run Britain. The blind leading the blind

As far as I'm concerned, the worst outcome for the coming election would be for a Cameron government to have a working majority.

Saying that, I'm probably in a minority on this forum though! (and possibly a minority of one).

Anyway, our Dan has a book out

He's also been spotted in Meole Brace getting in some training for a possible career change.

Daniel will retain Shrewsbury & Atcham, probably with an increased majority.

In fact, the bookmakers have the Tories as favourites to win Shropshire's only non-Tory seat: Telford! If Telford falls to the Tories that would be quite remarkable and would indicate a sizeable Commons majority. We shall see..

Andy Cooke - February 15, 2010 12:13 PM (GMT)
You are certainly not in the minority I would have thought Town Walls, with the likes of dotty Daniel and David Cameron as captain of the ship, the British people would be far worse off. Unfortunately it looks like most people vote traditionally each time at elections. Cameron just doesn't have the nouse or experience to help this country recover. The tories may be the favourites right now but I believe and hope things will change as the election approaches.

Wellingtonian - February 15, 2010 01:29 PM (GMT)
David Wright, MP for Telford, lovely chap. But doesn't seem to be all that good as a constituency MP, from what I hear. Though he is very good at organising events in the neighbouring constituency, even though this in breach of protocol...

Town_Walls - February 15, 2010 07:58 PM (GMT)
I wonder if the Cyberstalker candidate will be standing again at this election?

Anyway, I've been too busy laughing like a loon at the latest Airbrushed for Change posters.

Now THAT'S what we want to hear. This should boost Farage's election chances. He is exactly what we want in parliament, with the added bonus that he would be turfing out the odious Bercow.

QUOTE
Top marks to Farage. Let's hope he kicks Bercow out and starts making such statements in Westminster and exposing the treachery of the main three parties here.

Any more electioneering from Farage like this, and the Tories will struggle to get the majority they so desperately want. Keep sounding off Nigel!

I cant really believe This If this is the case, if so called opposition party in the form of the conservative party may as well fold. Useless springs to mind. Still think personally that ex-Eton toffs have had their day in the history of politics.

Eh?? Maybe if people like you didn't waste their vote on some pointless single-policy minor party at general elections and instead used their vote to boot out useless governments...

You really are going to be disappointed in life though, as the Tories continue to be either in government or the main opposition party for decades and decades to come... there's more chance of Labour falling away than the Tories dying off.

Bercow isn't a real Tory, the party hates him and as he's the Speaker, not having him elected won't affect the Tory majority.

I think it is also about popularity David. Why vote for a party that are full of 'hot air' in the form of the conservative party? This is his rock rallying call played everytime it seems he enters a conference by the Killers listen to the lyrics  How embarrasing for the rock group this would even make a hoodie blush. Regarding your final comment, when was the last time a Tory party won an election again? Another question would probably be do you believe in freedom of choice?

You know perfectly well that the Tories won the general election of 1992. The Tories also got more votes than Labour in England at the 2005 general election.

And since 1997 they have won (i.e. got the most seats/votes at) many, many local elections and European elections.

Remind me when the last time UKIP won an election?

Andy Cooke - March 15, 2010 09:41 AM (GMT)
We're not really typing about UKIP David, dont sidetrack! I realise that they havent won an election just like the tories havent over the last 18 years, yes 18 years! Now if they havent won one since then do you think they ever will now?

Labour didn't win a general election between 1974 and 1997... that's 23 years!

So to answer your question... yes.

Daniel is in the news again Todays guardian featured this

Why does is he always up to his neck in it?

Now we all have red buttons and vote habitually for Big Brother , X Factor et al . Do we really nedd to be represented at all ?
