Ive noticed listerning to our 'local' station the Severn in Shrewsbury things seem to be going pear-shaped or more Telford shaped it seems. It looks like the county town of Shropshire are going to loose out on having a commercial station broadcasting from studios in the town, instead we will get a pickled version of clinical automated, stacked, music radio, broadcast from 'glorious' Telford. The MNA are clearly not meeting the terms of their OFCOM contract here so does this once again spell the end for commercial radio in Shrewsbury? Advertisers take note because I think if this happens listeners will vote with their finger here giving it the preverbial 'bird'!
This of course follows on from Beacon FM leaving the town (I don't think they have anything in Shrewsbury any longer... might be wrong?) and more recently the Shropshire Star! (And the Chronicle is to be edited from Telford as we hear.) I await the BBC's move to Telford too!
From borough to town... to village...

Would the last person to leave please switch off...
Beacon never really had anything in Shrewsbury, except for a sales office. It was all a con! They promised studios, but never had any intention of building them.
As for The Severn? Another example of the wrong applicant geting a license to broadcast. Rumour has it that Telford FM might be going to the West Midlands, as MNA are considering selling the Ketley site for development and having everything moved to Wolverhampton and/or West Bromwich. A lot have already gone. For example, Telford Journal advertisers have to take their leaflets for insertion in The Telford Journal all the way to West Brom, now, not Ketley.
