Good for a long day-out, poor for time taken to get to the 'smoke' on business

I do hope the service make money as its handy to have, I'm planning on using it in a few weeks time.
As Andy says slow for business so it will be a recreational trip.

I hope they get a bit more punctual with the new trains or timetabling, as although I've not yet been more than 10 minutes late with them, I've seen that they too commonly have seriously delayed services.

According to the Chronicle, the company hopes to cut journey times by half an hour in December. The first train from Shrewsbury will leave at 5.52 am arriving in London before 9.00 am. At present, the earliest train departs at 6.25am getting to London at 9.54. Best bit is that there's a new return ticket for £28 if booked in advance.

I saw that, nice to have some good news for a change.
Did you see the article about the railway heritage museum in Abbey Foregate. £350,000 of our money!
Do you honestly think it will draw around 1000 visitors a week?
More like 10 I'd have thought.

I have not seen the article with the figure of £350 000 - is this just for building/start-up costs? The
latest info that I can see is that money is being spent scoping out a Lottery bid. The 'risk implication' bit strikes me as a bit over-dramatic.
Not sure how successful a 'Visitor Centre' (presumably with admission fees) would be at this site, 1000 a week (even if opening is restricted to Apr-Oct) seems ambitious - I wonder what the figures for somewhere like Haughmond Abbey are? But in any case it's not a huge amount of money.

Hmm interesting link TWs I remember that the Abbey wanted that site for new toilets but the toilets ended up being sited on Old Potts way instead.
The site did actually have a positive end use for the Abbey visitors but it was thwarted!
