Title: Shrewsbury Town
Description: Excellent start
Proud Salopian - August 18, 2007 03:45 PM (GMT)
An excellent start to the new season by Shrewsbury Town:
4-0 win away at Lincoln (supposedly favourites for promotion)
1-0 win at home in the Carling Cup against Colchester (Championship team)
1-0 win today at home against Bradford (biggest club in League 2)
More tough games ahead with Milton Keynes and Fulham (Carling Cup game) to play over the next two weeks. For Town to be doing so well against these sides can surely only be a good sign. The game against Bradford saw a big crowd at the New Meadow too - 6,413.
Automatic promotion this year? I think there's a good possibility! :)

Yeah, well done Shrewsbury Town so far, a better start than Stafford Rangers, hopefully we'll have at least one local team doing well by May. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Rangers can avoid relegation this year, but they've not gone about it very well so far...

Almost two years after the last post.....
Good job, Shrews!

Well, it's great that they're in the play-offs, but they've got to win them first before we can really celebrate!

Brilliant match yesterday - I watched in on Sky Sports, all 3 hours of it!
Now once again Town are off to Wembley! :D The match will be on Saturday 23rd May at 3pm.
Up Salop!

Just curious...I know both clubs will have a good following over there. But, Wembley is a big place and a neutral site. What kind of attendance is there at matches like these?
Proud Salopian - May 12, 2009 08:18 PM (GMT)
Well probably around 60,000. I know that at the moment, Shrewsbury have been allocated 21,000 seats and Gillingham 38,000 seats, but I suspect more would be available should there be the demand. I can see Shrewsbury bringing about 25,000 to this match.

Our allocation at Wembley has now been increased to 25,000.

Oh dear, never mind, what a pity. A poor performance from the Town and to top that off my other Toon went down. Least the weather was nice <_<

What are the odds, would be brilliant if they could both pull that off. Now the Keegan stuff is settled Ashley is hoping to sell by the end of the month. :D
